My cable is stuck in the charging station — what should I do?
In this article, you’ll learn what to do if your charging cable gets stuck in the charging point and cannot be removed. Follow the steps below to safely resolve the issue.
1. Stop the charging session
End the session using:
-
your charging card, or
-
your charging provider’s app (CPO)
Wait a few seconds for the connector lock to release.
2. Gently pull the cable out
Once the session has ended, the charging station will try to unlock the connector.
Pull the cable straight out, without twisting.
3. If the cable is still stuck, try this:
-
Push the cable firmly back into the socket, then pull it out again. Sometimes re-seating the connector helps the lock disengage.
-
Check that the charging session is fully stopped (in the app or by indicator lights).
4. Still stuck? Contact the helpdesk
Each charging station displays the operator’s (CPO) support phone number. They can:
-
stop the session remotely
-
unlock the connector
-
check the charging point for errors
Call this number if the cable remains stuck after several attempts.
